"Polished, professional, and thorough..."

“Patty has updated the way we think about traveling, especially for travelers who are over 50. It’s interesting that she realized that we travel differently than we did when we were younger. I know I do. I own a lot of travel books, but Patty’s are uniquely different. Polished, professional, and thorough, we sure could have used these when we were hosting forums in Italy!”

book "Becoming Trader Joe" by Patty Civalleri

BECOMING TRADER JOE

This is the founding story of America's Sweetheart grocer. This book is the culmination of his own personal journals which this author was asked to pull together into book form.

What they say...

Marie Jones

Traveler

As a world history teacher I think this could also be a great supplement to the textbook when teaching the Renaissance. It flawlessly includes the history of the various places, statues, etc.

"These books will change how I look at Italy from this point forward. They are just fabulous. I am  recommending them to friends and family to go to Italy, and also will recommend them to people who are going for the first time. Patty's books are a "must have" resource."

About the Author

Two decades of traveling the world in the context of archaeology made me really good at two things: history and travel. Combining those two things with my existing skills - writing and photography - created the perfect background needed to create a line of travel books and accessories.

During those twenty years, I became very focused (picky!) about all of the details that go into making, taking, and enjoying a trip. Much of that was about what I didn't want, and what took away from the enjoyment. Over-crowding was at the top of the list.

I know we have all been taught to 'herd' travel by clumping around the top 10 sites in every location, but there truly had to be another way to travel. And I understand that a lack of money and/or time encourages speed travel. But that wasn't for me either.

So I created an entirely new way of looking at travel that enables you to go as deep as you want, at the speed you like, and fill every minute of your stay with the real Italian cities and their history that has influenced the world we live in today.

Happy Reading, and Happier Travels!
